Customer Review : Great labels,Photos, SoSo Copies, Expensive Ink. : Epson Stylus Photo RX595 All-in-One Printer (C11C693201) I recently bought this printer for better photo copying and for the direct cd/dvd printing. Best Buy has it on sale for $95. You have to buy special inkjet printable disks, a little more expensive than the regular kind but well worth it. I created dvd's with beautiful labels, colors are strong and the label is easy to create,copying photos etc unto the printable cd/dvd label and creating text is a cinch. I really love this feature. I am diappointed with the direct copy function, (without computer), the quality is not that good. I had expected better, sharper text copying, tried it on highest quality and it got a little better. Color photo printing from the laptop is superb, the colors are really brilliant. The printer accepts all sorts of memory cards, but I haven't tried it with my digital camera yet. It prints very fast in black and white, color photo print time is also very good. The ink is incredibly expensive, even the generic ink, so I am using my old Epson 880 ( for which you can buy a ton of generic ink really cheap)for most of my regular print jobs and use this one for cd/dvd labels and photos. I hope the generic ink will get cheaper as the model gets older :) All in all, it's a printer with many functions, most of which is does very well. I find it a little complicated to use because of the many functions it can do and all the settings etc you have to change to do different tasks, but I think that's probably true for any of the "All in One" printers. Ink price is way too expensive, hope Epson comes down with price. You can almost get a new printer (on sale) with all new inks for the price they charge for a set of new inks alone. If you don't need the cd label print function (which I love) you can probably get a printer of equal quality with cheaper inks. Still, overall, this is a very good all in one printer.

Finally we bought this... and it's AWESOME! Better than we hoped! Not just the quality, but the pictures really are waterproof (we left one in a pot of water overnight to see) and seem really rugged (we tried to scratch off the image and it didn't work). We are using them to make postcards (we use spray-on elmers glue and pop on a piece of 4x6 card stock and... that's it) The quality is so far beyond what we were paying at the drugstore that the price difference per image feels totally worth it. The ONLY reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I wish the screen was a bit bigger... but I guess that would have made the printer more expensive... and then I might not have bought it. The other thing I like about it is that it's very fast to get TO the pitcture that you want to print... just pop in the camera's card and it goes through the images and then you choose one and pop it prints. But it IS annoying that you can't really see the quality of your picture on the crappy screen... you have to have decided on the image on the camera (or on your computer, I guess, but that would take time). I also really like that it is so very very small and has a handle and is all "protected" when it's closed. It's easy to kind of throw around (we're gentle, but... you know.. we stuff it places). Bottom line.. I think anyone would be very happy with this. I'll never be able to go back to inkjet pictures. It's the perfect size for fast postcard printing which brings smiles to my granmother and it's crazy fast... but it has a crappy screen, but I don't really care so much about that. If this printer broke I would immediately buy another one.
